Trip*Day 4*Part 1

When morning came on Day 4, I couldn't wait to get on the road. As bad as the hotel looked at night, I have to admit that even it looked better bathed in dawn's early light. The cracked spiderweb that was the entire window, refracted the sunshine and glistened like a real spiderweb of gossamer threads. Nonetheless, it was still gross, and time to go.

After showers and repacking, we were on the road by 7:00am. I was impressed. We hit the road without breakfast and drove into Nashville to find a church to attend.

We arrived at our chapel too late for the first ward, and an hour early for the second. We filled the time by making sandwiches for breakfast and picking up poor, trashed Vanbi.

We enjoyed the Bellevue Ward. The talks in Sacrament meeting were some of the finest I've heard. Meeka turned to me during the administration of the Sacrament, however, and said loudly, "this isn't Sacrament bread!!" Of course that got Mayzie and Nevan fitted for laughter, and me, too, somewhat.

After the stresses of the past few days, it was wonderful to be still and feast on the Word. I needed that, and I think the kids did, too.
After church, we were back on the road, finishing up "the greenest state in the land of the free," and heading into State No. 7: Kentucky.

a little relaxation amidst the driving...helps break it up a bit.
